As it is raining outside I think of the tears of many mothers, including myself at times.  Motherhood can be a lonely journey without much sunshine but we are not alone.  I said, we are not alone!  There are too many of us for us to think we can possibly be alone in this stage of life.  The Lord is ALWAYS with us, even when we don’t feel Him there.  He is.  He knows.  So you’ve come to this page to find that sunshine.  First we need to go for a quick win, in order to start building a reserve of hope.

The quick win: Images.  Do you ever wonder why we like the screen so much?  It’s almost always because of the images and the feeling of being connected.  The screen isn’t the answer but it is a place to start, especially if you are home a lone a lot.  Here are some images to lift your emotions.

If this was a helpful type of therapy I’ve linked here 2 Pinterest boards that I’ve been building just for you.  You can also bookmark them for later so we can continue building hope.

Now that you have a spark of something, let’s think about how God’s made you.  You, yourself, no one else right now.

  • Scriptures specifically about how God made woman, mothers, how God treats us as a mother would… so how should we treat them
  • Quotes on children looking up to mothers, parenting gems and goodness

So who are you?  Write down 3 words to describe how you want to be seen.

Now write down 3 hobbies that you can do inexpensively but will allow you to express who you are.  Even if you don’t think you can do them right now.

Lastly, write down 3 words to describe how you want to parent your child(ren)

Keep these.  This will be a guide for you.  Pray over these words, asking God to allow you to become these and for Him to re-direct you if your words aren’t the right direction for you.  You must be open for Your creator to show you exactly how you’ve been made.  If you do this, you will be in the sweet spot of what you deeply love and how you’ve been created to be.  Even in motherhood.

Now what?

  • Daily thanksgiving 3x’s
  • Read the Word and Pray
  • Words of Affirmation
  • Images of Hope
  • Get outside
  • Stay Hydrated
  • Get Sleep, Get Exercise
